Erykah Johnson

Dance Instructor

Erykah Johnson is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a recent 2020 graduate of the

American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, California where she obtained

her Fine Arts Degree with a major focus in Musical Theater. At AMDA she received

instructional training from industry professionals such as past and present agents,

producers, actors, dancers and singers with several years of knowledgeable experience in

the industry. Erykah has been able to perform and train with some of the top

choreographers in Los Angeles and Atlanta. Those choreographers include Fatima

Robinson, Cisco Ruelas, Nicole Kirkland, Mitchell Kelly, Sean Bankhead, Yannis Marshall and Aliyah Janell. Vocally she has trained with Ruben Studdard, Amy Murphy, Angel Hart,

and Lyndia Johnson.

She has appeared on major television shows such as Being Mary Jane, The Quad and The

Bobby Brown Story. In film, she appeared in Joyful Noise directed by Todd Graff and

Acrimony directed by Tyler Perry. She has been a featured dancer on several BET Award

shows and had the opportunity to sing professionally in many bands. As a theatrical

performer she has had principal roles in several productions such as Hairspray and Color

Purple where she had the role of Young Nettie.

Erykah is a highly skilled dancer and has experience in training and teaching in hip hop,

heels, jazz, contemporary, ballet, and tap.
